Relaxation techniques and nursing procedures in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Isla de la Juventud. General Teaching Hospital “Heroes del Baireâ€.January-July 2015

The chemotherapy like therapeutic treatment reports a great probability of manifestations or psychological alterations that can bear to diverse strategies of non successful confrontation to the same one. To evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention with technical of relaxation, to diminish the symptoms in patient with chemotherapy treatment, he/she was carried out an intervention study in the General Teaching Hospital “Heroes del Baireâ€, from January to July of the 2015. 80 patients that were assisted in the oncology service constituted the universe. The sample non probabilistic was constituted by 49 patients. Was developed in three stages: in the diagnostic the levels of anxiety and depression were identified, in the intervention the relaxation technique was applied: guided meditation and infirmary procedures, in the evaluation the effects were obtained. In the stage diagnostic a high level of anxiety prevailed (69.4%), the depression was moderate (40.8) and burden (55.10). after the intervention it evens them of anxiety they were low (65.3), with decrease of symptoms like the migraine, digestive dysfunctions, the thoracic oppression and throbs, and I diminish the serious depression. Of the depressive symptoms it disappeared the cry, the sadness, the pessimism, the dysfunctions of the dream and the anguish. The level of satisfaction with the applied treatment was favorable, 4% was not only shown satisfied. The training of technical of relaxation in patient with chemotherapy like therapeutic treatment reduces the symptoms associated to the same one.Downloads
